The International Animation Film Festival „Golden Kuker” 2010 is organized in Sofia, Bulgaria by the Bulgarian Association of Independent Cartoon Animation Artists (BAICAA) in partnership with Bulgarian National Radio, National Film Centre, Union of Bulgarian Filmmakers (media partner), the National Palace of Culture and under the patronage of Minister of Culture. Its objective is to promote animation art among the general public and especially the children, as well as provide a large forum for animation studios and independent filmmakers from Bulgaria and abroad.

The "Kukers" are Bulgarian carnival figures – men disguised as beasts with their heads always covered with masks. They often carry sheep-bells on their waist-bands and wear fur-coats with the fur on. Around New Year the Kukers dance in the streets in an attempt to frighten and chase away the evil spirits and the evil fairies, and secure rich harvest for the coming year.

The festival dates are:

13 - 17 October, Sofia, Bulgaria.
